Pemberton Roach is a bassist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer based in New York City. A dynamic live performer, he has played thousands of gigs with over 100 different artists at venues ranging from hay wagons to soccer stadiums. He has been signed to several record labels (both major and indie) and has written and/or recorded music featured on many television programs including Dawson's Creek, MTV Road Rules, and Dog the Bounty Hunter. In addition, he has produced jingles and commercial music for organizations such as the Philadelphia Phillies, the FUSE Network, and Victory Beer. He is also an accomplished instructor, having taught both bass and guitar to hundreds of students, ages eight to 80.
Prior to making music full-time, Roach worked on the other side the record business in publicity, radio promotion, marketing, A&R/production, and broadcasting. In the capacity of author and expert on popular music, he has written extensively for various national publications and spent several years as a staff editor for the industry standard reference, All Music Guide (Rovi).
Best of all, he has had the privilege of working and/or jamming with some of his all-time musical heroes, including New Orleans R&B architect Allen Toussaint, Nashville session kingpin Charlie McCoy, several original members of NYC proto-punk godfathers Blue Oyster Cult and the Dictators, and jazz piano genius Keith Jarrett.
